Most people in the world think that fair color skin is considered beautiful. I don’t mind other states and country people obsessed over fairness. When I see Tamilians obsessed about fairness, it pains me. Tamilians are Dravidians and our identity is our black skin just like our language. We are fighting and safeguarding our Tamil language for the last 2000 years because that is our identity. In the last 20 years, the entire Dravidian’s skin color changed I don’t know what might be the reason behind it. If this continues like this, I fear we can’t see any dark people in our own state. We Dravidians have some unique skin colors that we should be proud of.

I am well aware that no one should talk about skin color. It's just a color of excess melanin to protect against UV rays. I strongly agree with that fact until some people degrade the dark skin people. I am getting agitated when fairness cream advertisements always link fairness with people's future. This type of words and advertisement run by impacting the inferiority complex of people to increase their margin. We should love our unfairness because that’s what we are. There are a lot of skin products that didn’t even leave any part of the body to make it fairer.
In most parts of India and the world, they have different kinds of dark-skinned people. Most of them are living behind fair makeup face, I don’t blame you instead I want you to embrace yourself. Nowadays I lost interest in watching movies. Do you know why? Because to start with there is no reality in movies and heroes always fall for the fairest girl in the movie. There are days in old movies where the good equilibrium of fair and dark-skinned actors, now I don’t even find one dark-skinned character in the entire movie. Mostly I don’t know who I have to blame here, should I blame people's mindsets or movie makers.
I am seeing the reality against dark-skinned people and it bleeds my heart. They are getting rejected in marriage, people around target them to reduce their confidence, giving suggestions to get fair skin. I want to just shout “STOP IT”. We love seeing colors in flowers, just imagine thinking the world has every flower in red color. Don’t you think it’s boring and disgusting to see all flowers in only red color?
